Braincross: a weird new nonogram
Braincross is a deduction game in which you follow clues to reveal a hidden picture, like a classic nonogram. It's also free and online here on itch.
The nonogram genre is also known as griddlers, picross, paint-by-numbers and hanjie. In the classic game, the sides of the grid have numbers. These numbers are clues to the row and column pixels that must be drawn. This simple rule leads to all sorts of interesting pictures - grab any nonogram-style app to see for yourself!
Braincross is a bit different because it has various types of clues. In place of a simple number, braincross tells you some extra information.
The red chain tells you all about a line of pixels. You can see which individual pixels have neighbours.
The purple square is an unknown number of pixels. Think of it as the number in the traditional nonograms, but unknown.
The regular number is just like the traditional game: number of pixels :)
The question mark is a complete unknown. You'll have to use other hints to work out what it sees. Hope you can think around corners!
